Our Story

PJ Farm is an herbal farming partnership run by the wife and husband team of Pat and Jeff Scrimsher located near the Desoto National Forest in Saucier, Mississippi. Certified USDA organic since 2010, we grow 10 acres of diverse seasonal vegetables and herbs year round which we sell to local farmers’ markets, small retail outlets along the Gulf Coast and online. In addition to our herbs, we grow and sell a variety of organic starter plants prior to spring and fall planting. The farm is also home to several beehives where we collect honey and beeswax. Pat, a certified herbalist, produces herbal products such as tinctures, soaps, lip balms, and salves using most ingredients that were grown right here on the farm.

We have been growers together since 2007. A successful venture operating a small-scale nursery in our Gulfport, MS backyard inspired us to purchase our Saucier farm in 2010. Since the beginning of PJ Farm, the decision to utilize only organic farming methods to yield the highest-quality vegetables and herbs possible is one we firmly believe in. We obtained our organic certification from the USDA that same year and have never regretted it.

Our mission is simple: Nurture the plants that Mother Nature grows. We believe that the food we harvest is as good for us as it is for you. We strive to cultivate delicious, nourishing, and healthful produce and herbs through the use of environmentally responsible techniques and practices.

We are growers!

PJ Farm grows organic food & herbs year-round. With our mild winters something is always being planted or harvested on the farm. In the spring we cultivate tomatoes, cucumbers, herb and starter plants. During the summer season we produce okra, garlic, honey and fresh cut herbs. Sweet potatoes, ginger, turmeric, and honey comprise our fall harvest. Our collard, kale, chard, arugula, mustard, and daikon radishes are harvested during winter. With any luck our small orchard of pear and apple trees should begin producing soon.
